The engine is the heart of the car and it is the motor oil that keeps it running so you can get your car on the road.

That’s why it matters what oil you use in your motor. If you use the wrong motor oil, you run the risk of damaging the motor and it can be an expensive mess. New cars have to meet stricter requirements regarding the environment, and this also means that modern engines are designed to do less harm to the environment than older cars. That’s why the latest oils are designed to be suitable only for certain types of cars, thus achieving the highest performance from the motor and, in addition, the car pollutes less. When you are faced with choosing motor oil for your car, there are several features that you need to consider. Properties that concern both viscosity, additives, approvals and issues such as, for example, cleaning properties, lubricating properties and sulfur content. Viscosity is a term used for the thickness of the oil and how it flows at different temperatures. An example of an oil definition is 5w30: -5W (W=Winter) is the viscosity of the oil when the engine is cold. The lower the number, the thinner the oil. – 30 is the viscosity at the temperature of the motor when driving. The viscosity of the oil is very important, but the engine manufacturer’s approval is most important when looking for the right oil.
